Strong self-evaluations from project managers follow a formula: specific accomplishments with quantified impact, evidence of operating above your level, and one genuine growth area with a plan. Every claim should answer 'what did I do, and what changed because of it?'

Accomplishment examples for Project Managers

Whatever project managers do, the key is translating activity into outcome. Don't write 'responsible for X' — write what X achieved, with a number attached wherever possible. Specificity is what gets remembered in the room where decisions are made.

What Project Managers should avoid

Avoid vague superlatives like 'consistently exceeded expectations' with no evidence. Project Managers who pair every strength with a specific example come across as confident; those who rely on adjectives come across as inflated.
